The EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR (2016/679) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It replaces the 1995 Data Protection Directive (Directive 95/46/EC). The GDPR lays down rules relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and rules relating to the free movement of personal data. The changes that Chatify has implemented in response to GDPR are detailed here
Data Processing Agreement
Where personal data is being processed on behalf of the data controller, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) must exist between the data controller and the data processor. To make this easy for you, we have put together a DPA outlining clearly how Chatify processes personal data. By accepting this agreement, you will have your agreement in place with Chatify and you won't need to draft one from your side.
You can view the DPA from the admin center if you have not already agreed the DPA you will be greeted with a popup informing you where to view the DPA details
To view and agree to the DPA follow these steps:
Privacytab Review the Data Processing Agreement Review the types of data that Chatify is processing on your behalf (check the additional options if applicable) Click the check Box "Agree to the Data Processing Agreement" Click the Save button
Copy the link to your Privacy Statement and paste it into the Privacy Statement URL input box (detailed below).
Privacy Statement URL
If you want the data subjects (your customers) to expressly consent to contact from the data controller (you), you can enable this option in the app settings.
In order to enable this option for your Puble apps you must first provide a Privacy Statement URL, hosted from your website, which should detail in clear terms how your website gathers, uses and manages your website visitors' information. Chatify cannot offer legal advice on how your privacy statement should be composed, however it is recommended that you have a clear, comprehensive privacy statement in accordance with GDPR.
To add your Privacy Statement URL visit the
Privacy tab in the admin center enter the URL and click save
You can enable a consent checkbox on the Live Chat app that a user must tick before they provide any contact details. In the admin center select
Apps > Live Chat tab
Once enabled the following checkbox and Privacy Statement link will appear on the Live Chat app where users submit contact details:
Live QA / Community QA

Apps > Community QA and then select the specific app from the menu
